Why? Why? Why?

I am looking forward to seeing the list of reasons you come up with. I have my theories, most of which revolve around people being lazy and not seeking out options and protecting their own turf. I'm interested in seeing yours.

No worries Yann. No one can have a well-thought out post every single day. For fine examples of this, read through my posts...

Personally, I thought this post was fine -- people make things complicated so that people like me "the baby steps to success expert" can make a living! On the flipside, I can also be a master at creating a forest from a single tree sometimes. Luckily, I have my husband to balance me and clarify that.

Looking at the obvious requires honesty... about our shortcomings. That is painful. But the rewards...

Most proposals I see are way too complicated.

Is Your Corporation Protecting You?

It is a GIFT to be able to simplify. All truly great design is elegant and simple. All great literature, poetry etc...is edited, pared down...

And this is SO true that many of us here in this group are going to make a living off of this concept....

Jennifer is paring down our closets....

Rob is simplifying how to protect our businesses....

Matt is showing us how to safe energy...

Sue is balancing our lifes to save us health and stress....

April is simplifying the hunt for a mate...

I am clarifying the search for the ultimate insurance/risk management program...

All are about that elegance in simplicity that our soul's instinctively seek...but that MOST companies....most people do not bother to give their customers. Because it is too much work to edit.

Occam's Razor again? Or Pascal, "If I had more time I would have written you a shorter letter."

THINK! It is not something people want to do.

We get paid to make it simple.

That was better than my post Yann. I just posted a picture and wanted to know how to add it to my blog without posting it! Nothing to say.

Hmmm. There are a lot of possible reasons for making simple things complicated. Perhaps that's what gives their position power; if things were easy, no one would come to them. Or maybe they're too focused on what's confusing them in the situation, they don't bother focusing on the easy solution. So many different (and annoying) possibilities for this question.

The more you complicate something, the easier it is to avoid actually doing. It's a great way to procrastinate. On the other hand, taking steps to simplify is taking control of the situation.

Life doesn't have to be complicated but unfortunately we do need to wade through all of the complications people add to our lives. I am looking forward to being able to control more of what I see as being important and not have to deal with so many other inputs

My observation is that if people can make something appear more complicated than it is they either have a reason not to do it or to take a lot more time than is necessary to get it done.

sometimes they are doing it to test us about something ELSE which is about 7 inches below the surface. This is CERTAINLY the case with the Dating and Attraction Phase of Developing Great Romantic Relationships. It usually takes 3-6 months to establish sufficient TRUST to get beneath the surface to more of what is REALLY going on.

It's part of the qualifying and strategizing stage of the Sales Cycle.

Two types of people: simplifiers and complicators. You want to be employing the prior and servicing the latter.
